Deutz Blanc de Blancs 2010
Deutz are makers of one of the finest Blanc de Blancs on the market and the 2010 vintage is proof of it.
On the eye: This wine will seduce you from the first glance with its bright clear hue and delicate silver tints, characteristic of the Chardonnay varietal, combined with fine and very consistent bubbles.
On the nose: This Blanc de Blancs is exceptionally elegant with notes of white flowers and yellow fruit.
On the palate: Opens up with a direct, mineral attack which gives way to a delicate texture. Aromas of honeysuckle and white peach combine harmoniously with enticing notes of citrus fruit. The finish is subtle yet remarkably persistent.
This wine makes the ideal partner for aperitif drinking and also works wonderfully with fish such as Sea Bass, Salmon, Saint Pierre or even a Scallop carpaccio.
It is only just emerging from its adolescence. Patience and bottle age will give this Blanc de Blancs enough structure for a more elaborate style of cuisine. As it evolves, so will the range of gastronomic possibilities, making it compatible with more complex, stronger-flavoured and spicier dishes.
